Lead Civil Engineer

This new position requires an experienced Civil Engineer with specific knowledge and consulting experience to take a lead role designing civil site and infrastructure projects in a coastal region. The individual will: assist in developing, planning, coordinating, and performing the engineering work for multiple projects; perform assignments independently or with limited guidance from the Principals or senior engineer.

 

This position requires a broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Candidates must be capable of self-sufficiency and working on most aspects of projects.

 

Duties will include:

  • Communication with clients to identify the scope of engineering services required.
  • Communication with Project Manager for project guidance and status.
  • Performing accurate analysis and design necessary to fulfill the scope of engineering services.
  • Providing cost estimates as required.
  • Providing final construction documents conforming to the scope of engineering services for Project Manager’s review and approval.
  • Consulting and coordinating with regulatory officials regarding plan reviews.
  • Conducting periodic construction site observations for the project and attends project meetings as required by clients.
  • Routinely communicating with Principals, Design Group Leaders, Project Managers, CADD technicians, engineering technicians, surveyors, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and administrative staff.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited university.
  • 4+ years civil engineering experience, preferably in coastal regions.
  • Project Management experience preferred.
  • EIT required, PE preferred

SUMMARY

Performs all job functions to handstack cases to insure that cases are efficiently palletized according to company guidelines, and insures that cases and pallets meet all production criteria.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Adheres to stacking arrangement of pallets from engineer drawings on back of stacking cage.
  • Changes date on date coder daily.
  • Tapes damaged cases, or returns them to Ropak machine.
  • Advises Ropak attendant of leaking sugar packets.
  • Keeps cases square and tight on pallet.
  • Moves pallets and/or cases with lift when necessary.
  • Sorts damaged and overrun cases.
  • Cleans and sweeps palletizing, padlocker, and conveyor belt areas.
  • Cleans and wipes padlockers.

  • Checks ink rollers, plows, irons during run for excessive buildup.

  • Separates damaged envelopes by individual inspection and returns good envelopes to case.
  • Cleans machine and area as required for efficient operation and sanitation.
